ARIMED provides a full line of custom and non-custom
compression stockings. We also specialize in measuring patients for custom
burn supports for hypertrophic scarring. Both our staff and facility are
fully equipped to handle difficult cases ranging from pediatric to adult.
Primary Uses For Compression Garments
Compression garments are graded in millimeters of
mercury (mmHg) and are designed for patients with varicose veins, lymphedema,
ulcers, cellulitis and other diagnoses.
The compression is applied in a gradient manner, which means that more
pressure is applied to the lower part of the body and decreases as it moves
toward the center of the body. Compressions range from 8-15mmHg to 50+mmHg
depending on your diagnosis and your physician’s objective.
Primary Uses For Burn Supports
Custom burn supports are graded in millimeters of
mercury and designed specifically for patients who have burn injuries. They
provide comfort as well as therapeutic compression for hypertrophic scar
formation. Compressions range from 5mmHg to approximately 32mmHg.
Scheduling An Appointment
It is recommended that measurements for
compression garments be taken as early as possible in the morning. This is
when swelling is at a minimum and yields appropriate measurements.
Patients who are being measured for
custom burn supports can have their appointment scheduled during the morning
or afternoon.
